Legendary singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is celebrating his golden jubilee birthday today. Rahat took his first step into the field of music at the tender age of just 7. He has also been awarded Pakistan’s highest civilian honor, the Sitara-i-Imtiaz.
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, one of the most celebrated names in the world of music, has seen fifty springs of life. Born on December 9, 1974, into a musical family in Faisalabad, Rahat began his music career at the age of seven under the guidance of his uncle and mentor, the legendary qawwali king, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Rahat not only mastered qawwali but also skillfully modernized it to meet contemporary demands.
