British Deputy High Commissioner Zoe Ware met with Sindh’s Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on Sindh government’s economic projects, the national political situation, and other important matters. They also exchanged views on developmental initiatives in the province, public welfare projects, and enhancing cooperation with the United Kingdom.
Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that large-scale work is being carried out in the sectors of health, housing, education, and transport across the province. He emphasized that the Sindh government is consistently taking steps to provide better facilities to the public.
Highlighting modern and eco-friendly transportation initiatives, he said that for the first time in Pakistan, electric vehicles (EV) buses have been launched by the Sindh government. These buses are not only environmentally friendly but also offer modern travel facilities to citizens. He added that a project to provide electric bikes for women has also been approved, under which working women and female students will receive free EV bikes.
Sharjeel Memon noted that there are many sectors open for investment in Sindh and expressed a desire for British investors to explore opportunities in the province. He highlighted remarkable progress in the health sector, mentioning world-class facilities being provided by modern medical centers such as NICVD and CyberKnife.
He also shared that the world’s largest housing project is underway in Sindh, under which 2.1 million houses are being constructed for flood-affected individuals. The purpose of this initiative is to provide secure housing to disaster victims and help them rebuild stable lives.
During the meeting, British Deputy High Commissioner Zoe Ware appreciated the developmental efforts of the Sindh government, stating that the ongoing public welfare projects in the province are commendable. She added that partnerships in various sectors will be promoted in the future.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon presented traditional Sindhi gifts—Ajrak and Sindhi caps—to the esteemed guests.
